About Jeff Twining

Jeff started his writing career in 1990 as the company historian for the Elgin-Butler Brick Company in Austin. He collected more than 150 hours of oral history interviews with 42 interviewees, honing listening skills that serve him to this day. Over the next seven years, Jeff wrote for a variety of publications as architectural historian, freelance writer, business analyst, and as a legislative assistant for a prominent business lobbyist.

In 1997, he left Hoovers, Inc. and began to write for technology companies similar to the ones he profiled. As a technical writer, Jeff worked for Dell Computer, IBM Global Services, Dazel Corporation (now a part of Hewlett-Packard), and Vignette Corporation.

In May, 2001, Jeff assumed the role of El Jefe and started Wordsmith & Co. to provide high-quality technical documentation, training materials, and company profiles to businesses always striving to meet short deadlines.
